A small florist & nursery nestled into the heart of South Harwich. Specializing in quaint floral events and a wide variety of perennials, annuals and holiday centerpieces for any occasion.
Established in 1986 by my father, Charles Schilling, as a Cape Cod nursery and garden center, New England Gardens has grown and changed with each year into the special experience that customers can enjoy today. I, Briana Potter, joined my father as a teen, becoming very interested in the business and choosing the University of Rhode Island to pursue my degree in ornamental horticulture. Upon graduation, we took upon the challenge of the Christmas season, and also the opportunity to remain open year round.
The florist part of New England Gardens blossomed over the past 20 years, and has been a wonderful addition to our line of products. My husband, Jay Potter came on board upon our marriage, and brought with him his many talents. Jay and I took over the business from my father in 2004, and we’ve been having fun, hands in the soil together ever since! We are lucky to have Enid Bailey as our head designer who joined our team in 1997. Her creativity and talents in both outdoor garden design and indoor floral are a true asset to our New England Gardens family. We like to get to know our customers and their needs, therefore lending an old-fashioned country store kind of feeling to your shopping experience. So get ready to grow along with us, and as always, Enjoy!
